The facade and gatehouse of Christ's College fronts St. Andrew's Street. The original red brick First Court, built in 1505-11, was refaced with stone ashlar in the early 18th century, as was the fashion in the day. God's House was founded in the 1430s but was refounded by Lady Margaret Beaufort (mother of Henry VII) in 1505, when it was named for Jesus Christ.
