The neo-Gothic facade and gatehouse of Corpus Christi, built in the early 19th century, fronts Trumpington Street, and is a newer entrance to the college, the original being off Bene't Street into Old Court. The college was founded in 1352 by two guilds and is the only college to be founded by the townspeople (all other colleges being founded by aristocracy or religious orders). Further down and on the opposite side of the street can be seen the Pitt Building of Cambridge University Press.
